AAMS 2023

Alloys for Additive Manufacturing Symposium

September 27th-29th, 2023
Universidad Carlos III de Madrid – “Puerta de Toledo” campus. Spain.

Welcome!

IMDEA Materials Institute is pleased to host AAMS 2023 (Alloys for Additive Manufacturing Symposium), following the steps of successful earlier editions at the Max Planck Institute (Düsseldorf, Germany) in 2016, at EMPA (Dubendorf, Switzerland) in 2017, at the University of Sheffield (UK) in 2018, at Chalmers University of Technology (Gotheborg, Sweden) in 2019, and at the Universität der Bundeswehr (Munich, Germany) in 2021.

AAMS 2023 will take place from September 27th to 29th at the Madrid Puerta de Toledo Campus of the Carlos III University.

Aims and scope

This world-class event will cover materials´ aspects of metal additive manufacturing (AM) including, but not limited to, the following:

  • New and tailored alloys for additive manufacturing.
  • Additive manufacturing methods, including multimaterial approaches and hybrid processes.
  • Microstructure and property design by additive manufacturing.
  • Porous structures, lattices and metamaterials.

All materials scientific issues pertaining to the additive manufacturing of metals, alloys and composites including a metallic phase, fall under the scope of the conference. This includes experimental and theoretical research on powder making, powder characterization and degradation during AM processing, in-process materials behavior, post-processing and the resulting materials structural or functional properties. In particular contributions concerning the optimization of existing alloys for AM processes and the design of new, tailor-made alloys are encouraged.
